The Alcohol-Free Shop supports community drama

We were delighted to help VIPs enjoy the red carpet treatment when the Alcohol-Free Shop was invited to support a new theatre production.

Residents in Stockport Greater Manchester formed a community theatre group to raise awareness of the impact of alcohol abuse.

The play was based on personal life stories and findings of local research into the effects of alcohol misuse on individuals, families and the wider community.

Volunteers worked for six months alongside The University of Manchester, as researchers and attracted Arts Council, local authority and health service funding to translate their findings into drama

The play “Pints and Pork Scratchings” premiered at Stockport College and was preceded by an alcohol-free drinks reception when guests enjoyed products from The Alcohol Free Shop.
